BUYING AT AUCTION
CATALOGUES
Auction catalogues are available on viewing days and on the day of the sale.
BUYER'S PREMIUM
Each lot purchased is subject to a buyer's premium of 16% (Inc VAT).
BIDDING
To bid at auction please register your name, address and telephone number at the reception where you will receive a paddle number.
COMMISSION BID
If you cannot attend the auction you may leave a commission bid. The auctioneer will bid on your behalf attempting to purchase the lot as keenly as possible,subject to other commission bids and reserve prices. You will be telephoned after the auction only if your commission bid is successful.
TELEPHONE BIDS
We are always happy to take telephone bids, please speak to a member of staff to arrange this service.
PAYMENT
Payment can be made by Switch, Delta,Solo and most major credit cards. We make a surcharge of 2.5% on all credit cards There is no charge made on debit card payments. Payment can be made at any time during the auction; however there can be no clearing of lots until the end of the auction.
All lots must be paid for and collected by the following Tuesday
Storage charges per lot per day will be charged thereafter.
PACKING
Boxes and wrapping materials are generally available on auction days, please ask a member of staff. We can arrange for lots to be packed for collection by couriers/shippers - there is a minimum charge of £10 for this service.
DELIVERIES
A delivery service is available, details may be obtained from reception.
SELLING AT AUCTION
VALUATION
We are able to give free verbal valuations at our premises on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 9.30am to 4.30pm. Please note that we close for lunch between 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm. If you require us to value items within your own home, this again is a free service with no obligation. A printed confirmation of all lots for sale is available prior to an auction.
COMMISSION
A commission of 15% or £45 (whichever is the greater) will be charged on the hammer price. Insurance is charged within the commission. We charge £5 per lot (£10 per lot for furniture or items over £200) in respect of unsold items at our discretion. All charges are subject to VAT.
SETTLEMENT
Settlement is made by cheque by post approximately 28 days after the last transaction date, subject to all payments from purchasers having cleared and all lots having been sold, returned or disposed of.
COLLECTION
We can arrange collection of goods for transportation to our saleroom. Our minimum charge is £50 plus VAT
